Samsung launches Galaxy Active Neo with Corning Gorilla Glass 4

Samsung has launched a new budget smartphone the Galaxy Active Neo in Japan priced at JPY 20,000 (roughly Rs. 10,800). However, there’s no word yet on the availability of the phone in other countries.

The Samsung Galaxy Active Neo is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 4, featuring a 4.5-inch WVGA (480x800 pixels) resolution display. Powered by 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, clubbed with Adreno 306 GPU and 2GB of RAM, the device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop.

Samsung Galaxy Active Neo sports with 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, with an internal storage of 16 GB expandable upto 128 GB. The device is equipped with 2200 mAh battery, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC. Galaxy Active Neo carries an IP68 certification which is meant to resist water and dust up to 1.5M for 30 minutes, while the MIL-STD-810G certification is meant to resist the salt and sea water, dust, radiation, vibration and rain. It allows you to activate 'Battery-conserving Mode' which is on the left side bezel of the smartphone.

The Galaxy Active Neo purchasers also earn 100GB of OneDrive cloud storage for 2 years. The Galaxy Active Neo measures 133x70x10.1mm, weighs 154 grams and is available in Camo White and Solid Black colour variants.
