PMKSNY - Rs 6000 subsidy - Farmers can now directly enroll

PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana: The Modi 2.0 Government has made some adaptation to the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Now, the farmers in any part of India can directly enroll with a single click at the official website of the
PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna pmkisan.gov.in. This move of the Narendra Modi government would enable farmers of even those states where the state government is not keen on pursuing the central government's most ambitious farmer welfare scheme. This move is aimed at reaching out to the marginal farmers of such states as well. The enrolment process has been kept simple as the farmers can enroll on the PM Kisan portal with self-declaration of their landholdings.

Now farmers can bypass their state governments by directly enrolling on pmkisan.gov.in. Till now, farmers were unable to enroll themselves with the farmer's welfare scheme without involvement of the state government. Once, the agriculture ministry launched the portal on Tuesday that can enable farmers to directly enroll themselves, it has now become easier for the marginal farmers in any part of India to claim the Rs 6,000 annual subsidy that the government pays in three installments.

However, it doesn't mean the state government's role has become zero. The respective state governments will be required to verify the Aadhaar number and other eligibility criteria of farmers that are sought by the government in PM Kisan SammanNidhi Yojana before Rs 6,000 subsidy transfer into the bank account of the beneficiary farmer. Sources at the Ministry of Agriculture revealed to Zee Business, on the condition of anonymity, that such decisions were taken by the center after receiving huge number of applications from the various states where the state governments are not keen on pursuing the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna.
